Assassin's Creed Introduces Bizarre Attack on Titan Event for Holiday Season
In a surprising collaboration that defies usual forecasts, the game developer has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing free additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Disclosed
According to the formal statement, "A strange meeting draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where rumors of forbidden rituals and fearsome changes echo through the darkness." The storyline introduces a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a secret sect.
The adventure concentrates on "bizarre experiments and a fearsome enemy" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Metamorphoses
The teaser features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser concludes with a striking sequence showing a character, probably the captive, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Bonus Material
Players who accomplish the mission will receive an exclusive katana alongside several objects hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Addition
This update also adds the game's latest free story addition, titled "The Enigma." This playful adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature techniques: Naoe reveals a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This marks hardly the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with well-known anime franchises. The series earlier showcased a 2020 collaborative story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
