I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Fighter's Mindset
"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
In spite of such comments, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, at the same time, targeted British opponent Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Opponent
Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.
Financial Attraction
However, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning massive earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.
"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul stated.
Size Difference
As both boxers participated in the customary face-off, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really happening.
